About Endangered Languages
There are more than 7,000 languages spoken on Earth today. Nearly half are in danger of falling silent.
But there is hope. People around the world are hard at work to strengthen, promote, and share their languages. ELP brings them together.
About ELP
The Endangered Languages Project is an online gathering place to celebrate and sustain the world’s languages. We aim to build bridges between everyone working for language diversity: language keepers, learners, researchers, educators, policymakers, activists, and the public.
We offer reliable information, free training, and supportive guidance in language documentation, revitalization, and advocacy.
Long live your language!
About the project
Since 2012, ELP has worked to raise awareness and support for the world’s endangered languages. Our role is to connect people with information, resources, training, and each other — at no cost.
